How we counted
We started from each professional's listing in the PGA Play "find a golf lesson" directory and followed their "book now" and website links. Where the link did not identify a booking tool, we fetched the page and up to three lesson or booking sub-pages, and looked for the fingerprints of around 50 booking systems. Where several pros share one club or academy website, the site's tool is counted for each of them. The figures describe professionals who list themselves for lessons; pros who do not teach, or are not in the directory, are not included.

What stands out
One in three pros cannot be booked online. 435 pros take bookings by phone, email or enquiry form, and 80 more send students to a website that has lapsed. For a student searching at 10pm, or asking an AI assistant for "a golf lesson near me this weekend", those pros are hard to book.
Foremost is the default where there is a default. Among pros who do take online bookings, Foremost's system is used by nearly half, largely because it is included with Foremost membership.
Golf-specific tools lead, but general schedulers are a big group. Acuity, Setmore, Calendly, SimplyBook, Wix and similar tools together account for about 34% of online-bookable pros. These were built for salons and consultants, not for bays, simulators and playing lessons.
The nations differ. Of the 1,516 pros, 1,259 are in England, 159 in Scotland, 56 in Wales and 42 in Northern Ireland. In Wales 46% use Foremost. In Northern Ireland 55% have no online booking tool. In Scotland, Acuity is used by 11%, more than anywhere else.
Pro websites are mostly self-built. Where we could identify the site builder, WordPress was the most common, followed by Wix and Squarespace.
What it means for a pro
A booking page solves one part of the job: a student who has already decided can pick a slot. It does not answer "have you anything after work on Thursday?", "how much is a ten-lesson pack?" or "can my daughter join the junior group?". Those questions arrive by phone, text and WhatsApp, usually while you are teaching, and whoever answers first tends to get the booking.
That is the gap nooQ was built for. cadd-Ai, nooQ's AI assistant, answers from your own price list and books into your real diary on your website and on WhatsApp, and the same diary drives your online booking page. See how it works for a golf professional.
