Calendar (Diary) Settings

Purpose

Configures the public events diary — the calendar widget on /events (or /diary) and the homepage What's-On block.

When you want to change which calendar views are available, recolour event categories, or add an external calendar feed.

Enabled — toggle the calendar feature on/off for this tenant.
Default view — Month, Week, Agenda. The view visitors see first.
Available views — checkboxes for which views appear as toggles.
Event sources — list of feeds to merge in:
- Internal Events collection (always included).
- Golf Genius API (if integrated).
- Intelligent Golf API (if integrated).
- External iCal URL (any public calendar).
Category colours — for each Event Category, a hex colour for its dot/background on the calendar.
Sync schedule — how often external sources are pulled (hourly, every 6h, daily).
Filter defaults — which categories are shown by default; visitors can toggle off.

External iCal feeds must be publicly accessible — authenticated calendar URLs aren't supported.
CSV import update behaviour — the "Update existing on import" toggle controls whether a CSV row that matches an existing event updates it or is skipped. When on, matches merge using the cross-source rules (your title/venue/dates are preserved; the longer description wins).
Edits to synced events stick. Renaming or rewriting a Golf Genius event in the admin is no longer overwritten by the next sync — only the external link fields (External ID, External URL, Source) refresh. See Events and Calendar — What edits survive a future sync.
The sync runs in the background — saving Calendar Settings doesn't immediately re-sync. Trigger a manual sync via the Integrations page if you need it now.
Colour-blindness — don't use only red/green as differentiators. Pair with category names in tooltips.
