The Page Builder

Purpose

Every page, post, and most settings screens build their layout from a vertical stack of blocks. The block system replaces a single rich-text editor with reusable, configurable components.

When to use this

Read this once before building your first page. After that the editor is largely discoverable.

How the editor works

  1. On a Page or Post, scroll to the Layout field.
  2. Click Add Block to choose a block type from the picker.
  3. Each block has its own fields — fill them in.
  4. Drag the handle on the left of a block to reorder it.
  5. Click the delete icon to remove a block, or the duplicate icon to clone it.
  6. Save the page. The order of blocks on the page is the order they render on the public site.

Block categories

  • Hero blocks — Large above-the-fold sections with imagery and a call to action.
  • Content blocks — Rich text, two-column splits, image-with-text, quotes.
  • Media blocks — Image galleries, video embeds, image carousels.
  • Data blocks — Data Tables, score tables, leaderboards (Golf Genius).
  • Form blocks — Embedded forms from the Forms collection.
  • Integration blocks — Golf Genius lists, social feeds, weather, course information.
  • CTA blocks — Buttons, banners, newsletter signup.

The block picker shows the current list — new blocks are added by your nooQ admin from time to time.

Common tasks

  • Reuse a layout: copy a Page, then change only the fields you need. There's no template system; copy-paste is the pattern.
  • Hide a block temporarily: most blocks have a Hidden toggle in their settings. Faster than deleting.
  • Preview: the Preview button (top right of the edit form) opens the page on the public site with draft content.

Gotchas

  • Each block is independent — there's no inherited styling between blocks. If a colour looks different in one block, it's set per-block.
  • Reordering is permanent — there's no undo. Save often.
  • Large galleries are slow — over ~30 images in a gallery noticeably impacts the page render. Use folders instead and link to them.
