Intranet / Spaces (Wiki)
Purpose
Spaces is the private, members-only wiki for your club — committee minutes, internal procedures, members-only handbooks. It's powered by Docmost and lives behind member login. Spaces Settings configures the link between your tenant and your Docmost workspace.
When to use this
- First-time setup of the intranet.
- Updating the Docmost workspace URL or API key.
- Configuring which member roles can access which spaces.
Key fields
- Enabled — toggle the intranet feature on/off for this tenant.
- Workspace URL — your Docmost workspace (e.g.
https://wiki.yourclub.com). - API key — Docmost API key for read-through access.
- Default space ID — landing space when a member opens the intranet.
- Sync frequency — how often to mirror the page tree into the admin sidebar (hourly is fine).
- Access mapping — which member roles can see which spaces.
Common tasks
Connect Docmost
- In Docmost, create a workspace and API key.
- Settings > Spaces Settings.
- Enabled = on. Paste Workspace URL and API key.
- Save. The first sync pulls the page tree into the admin sidebar.
Open a Space from the admin
- Content > Intranet.
- Pick a space from the sidebar. The page opens inline (iframe to Docmost).
- Edits happen in Docmost; the admin is a launcher.
Adjust who can see what
- Spaces Settings > Access mapping.
- For each space, pick the member roles allowed (e.g. Committee, Captains, All members).
- Save.
Gotchas
- Docmost is a separate service — editing happens there, not in this admin. The admin only links and shows. Don't expect rich editing here.
- API key has broad read access. Treat it like a password.
- Sync is one-way — Docmost → admin. Page changes show up after the next sync.
- Public exposure — Spaces are intended for members. Don't publish committee minutes in this collection unless they're public-ready.
